As any Lytteltonite knows, light is the ultimate challenge. For this build, we incorporated extensive glazing to achieve a bright, airy home.
Making the most of a challenging site
Carefully placed skylights provide ample natural light, while a floor to ceiling window soaks up the harbour view. Purchased and developed by the family next door, we started by pouring a 4m high, 28m long retaining wall in a single pour. This gave us the ability to build on a flat site with enough space to create a private courtyard at the back of the house.
